Terms & Conditions
Last updated: October 28, 2026
These terms apply when you buy or use Chord Agent or Chord Agent 2 ("the software") from Sonic Weapons ("we", "us").
1. Licence
When you buy, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the software. You may:
- Activate and use it on up to 2 computers at a time. You can move a licence between computers (3 times in 30 days in the plugin; more through support)
- Use it for commercial and non-commercial music production
- Release and sell music made with it, royalty-free. The chords, MIDI and audio you create are yours.
2. Restrictions
You may not:
- Share, publish, sell or transfer your licence key or serial
- Redistribute the installer
- Reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the software, except where the law allows it
- Abuse, overload or try to get around the limits of our generation server, or use it outside the software
- Remove copyright notices or branding
3. Ownership
The software and its intellectual property belong to Sonic Weapons. You're buying a licence to use it, not the software itself.
4. Price and payment
- Prices are in US dollars. Chord Agent 2 is a one-off purchase.
- Payments are processed by Stripe on its checkout page. Your licence key is shown as soon as payment succeeds; keep it safe (support can resend it to your purchase address).
- We may change prices for future purchases; that doesn't affect licences already bought.
5. Free upgrade for Chord Agent 1 owners
A Chord Agent 1 purchase includes a free Chord Agent 2 licence under these terms: enter your v1 email and serial in Chord Agent 2's licence card to get your key.
6. Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase: email support@sonic-weapons.com from your purchase address. The refund goes back through Stripe. When a purchase is refunded or disputed, its licence key is revoked and you must stop using the software. This doesn't affect your statutory rights.
7. Online features
Writing a progression (GENERATE, REFINE, NEW HARMONY) uses our server and needs an internet connection; the rest of the software works offline. We work to keep the server available but can't guarantee uninterrupted service, and we may apply fair-use rate limits. Results are generated by AI and may vary; you're responsible for how you use them.
8. Updates
Your licence includes updates to the version you bought (bug fixes, improvements, compatibility updates) when we release them. We decide what updates to release and when.
9. System requirements
Chord Agent 2: macOS 11 or later (Apple Silicon or Intel) and an AU or VST3 host, or the Standalone app. Please check compatibility before buying; the 14-day refund covers you if it doesn't work for you.
10. No warranty
To the extent the law allows, the software is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and error-free or uninterrupted operation.
11. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses (such as lost data, projects, revenue or profits), and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the licence.
12. Termination
If you breach these terms we may end your licence; you must then stop using and delete the software. Licences ended for a breach aren't refunded.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. Changes are posted here with a new date; continuing to use the software after a change means you accept it.
